Physical Therapy in Downtown DC near Dupont Circle and Farragut Square

Rose Physical Therapy's downtown clinic is a premier physical therapy office at 1725 DeSales Street NW, Suite 830, located between Dupont Circle and Farragut Square, across from the Mayflower Hotel and down the street from the National Geographic headquarters. Just steps from the Farragut North, Farragut West, and Dupont Circle Metro stops, our downtown DC physical therapists offer full-hour, one-on-one sessions for the people who work and live in the heart of the city.

Working and Living Downtown

The blocks around Farragut Square, K Street, and Connecticut Avenue form the professional heart of Washington. Law firms, associations, consulting firms, nonprofits, and federal offices fill the Golden Triangle, and on weekdays the sidewalks are full of people heading into the office. Many of our downtown clients commute in from across DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland and fit physical therapy around a full workday.

Just north, Dupont Circle adds the residential character: Victorian rowhouses, apartment buildings, and a diverse community of working professionals with a proud history as a center of Washington's LGBTQ+ community. The Dupont Circle fountain, the Sunday FRESHFARM market, the bookstores and cafés along Connecticut Avenue and 17th Street, and Embassy Row along Massachusetts Avenue keep the neighborhood lively. The White House and Lafayette Square are a few blocks south, and Rock Creek Park's trails are close enough for a lunchtime run.

Physical Therapy for Downtown Professionals

Our downtown clinic offers every Rose specialty, and therapists rotate across all three locations so downtown clients never have to travel for expert care. Here, we mostly see working adults, and pelvic health is a major part of what we do. Our pelvic health physical therapists treat clients of all genders for pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain that gets worse with long hours of sitting, urinary incontinence and urgency, male pelvic floor conditions, and post-operative gender-affirming care.

Office work brings its own set of problems, so we treat a lot of neck pain, tension headaches, upper back pain, and carpal tunnel symptoms. We also offer ergonomic assessments to fix the workstation habits behind them. For back pain and sciatica, our therapists use McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), and we treat TMJ and jaw pain linked to stress and teeth grinding. Plenty of our downtown clients are athletes too: we offer running assessments for lunchtime runners and marathon trainees, along with care for sports injuries of every kind. Explore our full list of services to see everything we treat.

What to Expect at Our Downtown Clinic

Our downtown clinic is designed to be a calm break from the workday. Past the reception area, we're a shoes-off clinic. Many exercises happen on the floor, so we keep it clean, and clients often tell us that leaving their shoes (and the office) at the door makes them feel at home.

Every session is a full hour, one-on-one with a doctor of physical therapy, in a private treatment room, followed by exercise work in our shared open area with all the equipment you need. With appointments from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday, it's easy to schedule physical therapy before work, over lunch, or after you leave the office.

Inclusive, Trauma-Informed Care Near Dupont Circle

Our downtown clinic is just blocks from Dupont Circle, long a heart of Washington's LGBTQ+ community, and we're proud to offer an affirming space for every client who walks through our door. Your chosen name and pronouns are part of your intake from the start. Care at Rose is trauma-informed for everyone, not just some clients: your therapist explains each step in advance, asks for your consent, and follows your lead. We offer pelvic health for all genders, along with gender-affirming care such as post-operative recovery for trans women and trans men, all in a private room with a full hour of one-on-one time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I schedule physical therapy before or after work?

Yes. Our downtown clinic is open 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday, so early-morning, lunchtime, and evening sessions are easy to book.

Do you offer pelvic health physical therapy for all genders?

Yes. Pelvic health is one of the most common reasons clients visit our downtown clinic. We treat clients of all genders, including male pelvic floor conditions and post-operative gender-affirming care for trans women and trans men.

Do you offer running analysis downtown?

Yes. Running assessments are available at our downtown clinic, and many of our clients here are runners and athletes.

Why is Rose a shoes-off clinic?

We spend a lot of time exercising on the floor, so we keep it clean by removing shoes past the reception area. Clients often say it helps them relax and feel at home.

Do you accept insurance?

Rose is an out-of-network, cash-based practice. Visit our FAQ / Insurance page to learn how to use your out-of-network benefits.
